Myth: Using the passive voice is a grammatical error. It’s not. It's a stylistic issue that pertains to clarity. Passive voice is good for when the actor in a sentence is unimportant or would be a distraction. But it should be used conservatively [see what we did there😉!]

Active voice is direct and engaging, while passive voice can be useful when focusing on the action or when the doer isn't important.
